What is a chicken wing?
What are the types of chicken wings?
There are only two parts of a chicken wing that people consume- the Drumette (the mini-drumstick) and the Wingette (the flat middle section with the two bones).
How do you eat a chicken wing?
A Brief History of the Chicken Wing:
Who?
Sources convulsively say that the first batch of fried chicken wings were originally invented by Italian immigrant Theressa Bellissimo
When?
It is said that in 1964 she stumbled across the idea to fry up the chicken wings mistakenly shipped to the family restaurant, and serve them to customers alongside famed blue cheese dressing and celery sticks to clam the spicy amazingness.
Where?
In 1939 Frank and Teressa Bellissimo bought a restaurant in Buffalo, New York, alongside the Buffalo River and decided to name it the Anchor Bar.
This is why chicken wings are called Buffalo wings (Or Buffalo chicken wings, or any variation of the two words) because they were in invented in the city of Buffalo. Unfortunately they have nothing to do with the actual animal buffalo.
Why?
There are a series of different stories telling how it was Teressa decided to fry up a batch of chicken wings, a particularly interesting notion given that at that time the wings of the chicken were usually separated at the butchers from all that 'edible' meat.
As an Italian, I would have to say it FIGURES, Italians make everything GREAT! There are only 2 kinds of people in this world, Italians And Poeple that wanna be ! FACT ~
